    Unemployed & homeless

So there it is, the end of an era. My horror days at Ecolab are over. Time to celebrate.

I haven't been working since Friday last week and man, it's nice! There are 10 days left before I'm back in Sydney and coinciding with my last week here is none other than the BEST trance party EVER!!!  Yep, Trance Energy is on again.  Forget sulking about being unemployed and homeless - it was my choice anyway and fortunately - it's Trance Energy time AND the start of a new life (again)!

On my other blog I made a list of my things to do over the next 12 months or so, from activites to pad the CV, to trying to be stylin' and somewhat lavish!  Check out the list and watch me...Succeed???  Hope so!  http://www.psyberworkshop.com/Stuff/Blog/

So that's about it.  Packing is taking place at the moment in addition to catching up on a few things and this weekend we are heading to Utrecht and Amsterdam as a last short trip away (for me - Oli's will be in Berlin, I guess).  So I started in Amsterdam with Trance Energy and I leave doing the same thing!   How appropriate! It won't be my last Trance Energy though, we plan on going there next year too!

    Coming to Australia

After all the BS I've been through living in Germany, I really don't wish my experience on anyone coming to Australia, so I'm building up a "Coming to Australia" page with (hopefully) useful info for the regular traveller or prospective migrant so that you (a) don't get ripped off by anyone or any organisation, (b) know your rights, (c) get the most from your experience and most of all (d) enjoy your time there to the max!

The mini-site will include info on:
    • Getting your visa (Working Holiday Visa as experienced by my Lil Porkhead Hottie will be documented too)
    • Arriving in Australia
    • Translation options and free language services that are available
    • General, everyday laws and rights
    • Getting a Tax File Number
    • Income taxation
    • Getting a mobile on contract or prepaid
    • Job sites and salary expectations/market rates
    • Opening a bank account and bank recommendations
    • Credit card options when you can't get a credit card because you're there temporarily or just don't want a constant debt
    • Finding a job in a capital city and some useful links to recruitment agencies and websites
    • Looking for an apartment and useful links
    • Leasing an apartment
    • Getting electricity
    • Getting a landline/telephone
    • Finding affordable furniture or rental furniture and links
    • Terminating an apartment lease
    • Education and courses information
    • Getting your superannuation payments refunded if leaving Australia
    • Filing an Income Tax Return
    • Applying for a Fiance and Spouse Visa
    • Becoming a Permanent Resident
    • Getting Medicare

All the important stuff there! If there's anything missing, drop me a line and I'll look into it!  The page will be located at:

Check there soon for developments and good luck!

    Expat life rundown

For those of you looking for some truth to the expat experience, check out my other blog where I list a few of the less desirable culture differences and lessons you will learn when living in Europe!

Positive points are coming soon, though they might be less entertaining.

    Back to the sun

Here it is, the long-awaited news that I'm sure you were all dying to hear (ahem)...

I QUIT MY JOB AT ECOLAB TODAY AND AM HEADING BACK TO SYDNEY

Yep, that's right, this afternoon at around 3pm, I went in there and handed over my resignation and it really wasn't negotiable!  It's been on the cards for quite some time, but I was waiting for Oli to make up his mind (and take action! :p) on coming with me to Australia.  There are a number of reasons for this, which I will outline in more detail on my psyberworkshop blog over the coming weeks.
I'll be heading back to Sydney in March, a week or so after Trance Energy in Utrecht (NL) and Oli will join me around April after I find a decent apartment, hopefully in a particular building ("Monument") off Oxford!

So that's the exciting news for now! I hope someone out there is happy about the breaking news!
    January 10

    Meet Oli, my fiance :| :O :D

Just a short one again! For those of you now wondering what the hell is going on, please check out my other blog, complete with pics of my lil porkhead cutie and some details of the exciting news (at least for me!). Also, this is not the news I speak of in other posts - that is still on the way.  And no, it's not related to the engagement - I AM NOT PREGNANT! :D

I hope everyone is having a nice start into 2007.  Mine could be better...No slaving would be nice! :)

    www.psyberworkshop.com now up!

So finally the website is up!  There's a new blog too, but I'll continue to update this anyway. More detailed posts will be on the website from now on though.  Nothing overly rivetting is there yet, but I'm updating it often.  :)

Happy New Year to all :)

Master Cleanse / Lemon Diet result

So no news, but I have noticed that people are coming to my space through Master Cleanse searches!  As such, I figure I should at least inform the visitors of the result very briefly, so they can decide if it's what they're looking for.

I lasted 6 days, not because it was tough, but rather because I expected more and was concerned about my metabolism being completely ruined by the end of the diet and immediately gaining all the weight back...Which is what happened I think!

Day 1 and 2, as I recall, weren't too bad.  I think only coz I was hyped up and motivated.  I didn't lose anything, however, until day 3, at which point I had shed 2kg / 4.41lbs.  Having done the Atkins diet in the past, I wasn't too impressed with this result.

Over days 3 and 4, I lost around .5kg / 1.1lbs each, then over day 5 and 6, I lost nothing.  I think on day 4 I started questioning the diet much more, did a bit more searching and thinking, and came to the conclusion that I may only be losing water and/or muscle mass...The latter not being a positive thing!  On the evening of day 6, I started on the orange juice, continued this on day 7 and then on day 7 for dinner I had vegies and grilled fish!  I wasn't sick at all and the food wasn't too heavy.  By day 8, it was back to normal, but not deadly food!

I think around day 9 I noticed that 2kg / 4.41lbs were back (without pigging out on food or drink) and then I went on Atkins for around 2 weeks and lost again!  A few things to note :

    • I did not have more syrup than I should have, so I don't believe I could have lost more
    • I did not cheat once!  Others have asked and I'm sorry, but I did not!
    • I never experienced the burning poo during the diet.  Eat some chili or prunes and you'll get something similar I guess
    • I was drinking "poo tea" (aka senna)
    • I only had the sea salt water once at the very start, but it kept me "going" for around 5 hours, so I decided not to indulge in that concoction again.  Note also that my partner (who also gained all the weight back soon after) had it once at the start of the diet too, vomited immediately after, then randomly threw up for the next 2-3 days.  I checked a Yahoo Master Cleanse group if this was normal and yes, it has happened to others in the past...YOU'VE BEEN WARNED!
    • After finishing the diet, it took around 3 weeks before I was "regular" again, sometimes not going for 2 or 3 days.  Before the diet I would go naturally at least once a day, even up to 3!   I resolved the issue by eating around 5 prunes a day for a little over a week.
I'm no dietician or expert, but hopefully this will help you in researching other people's experience with the Master Cleanse / Lemon Diet.  I have no plans for ever doing this again.  In my opinion, people do it over and over because they want to prove they can stick to fasting, are desperate to lose weight quickly and maybe the number one reason would be that the weight keeps coming back and isn't maintainable.  Make up your own mind and feel free to disagree with me.

The status of my health today is secret, as there could be a paparazzi update very soon!

Embarking on the Master Cleanse / Lemonade Diet

So I haven't had time to work on my website and for good reasons - nightmare assignments, nightmare slaving / working, "lovin'" and socialising, as well as general procrastination.  However, I have managed to convince myself into trying the "Master Cleanse" / "Lemonade Diet".

As has been the case for almost a year now, I am not feeling too sexy.    Then, a few weeks ago while gorging on a so-called Grillteller, I was told about this cleansing diet that can help you lose up to around 5-10kgs in 10 days...WHAT THE?!    Yep.  It's basically a fast that results (hopefully) in ridding your body of toxins and looking desirable again.    Sounds good to me.

Due to possible "poo probs", I'll be starting this on Saturday morning, 28th October and will finish on Monday 6th November.  I'll report the results in a couple of weeks!   Until then, here are a few links :

    New website coming soon!

Hey readers (whoever you might be)

This MSN Space is getting smaller each day (depends on my patience to delete all the stuff individually) coz I'm moving everything over and creating new stuff on my own website.  There's nothing there right now, but by October it should be up and running - at least partly.  :)  The site is http://www.psyberworkshop.com.  It'll have music (by me ), nerd stuff  (IT, music, useless facts, kung fu stuff etc) and even more pics!    When I'm comfortable with some new tunes, I'll be joining the rest of the losers on MySpace.com - but only for shameless self-promotion.

Until then, happy slaving and living everyone!
